Home Swap – local scheme
With more people happily settled in their homes, there are fewer homes being advertised to rent. For people who want to move, there’s less opportunity and it’s taking longer, especially if you want to move to a specific area. A local alternative option is Home Swap - a service that offers secure or assured tenants the chance to ‘swap’ their home with another tenant.
How does Home Swap work?
Contact us on 01254 269090, let us have your details and we will advertise your home under Home Swap on the touch screen information kiosks.
Touch screens can be found at the following locations:
- Twin Valley Homes: Prospect House, Wharf Street, Blackburn
- Twin Valley Homes: 5–7 Bolton Road, Darwen
- Whitebirk 2000 Centre: 34 Brecon Road, Blackburn
- Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council: Blackburn Town Hall
- Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council: Darwen Town Hall
How do I find out who wants to swap?
- On the touch screen kiosk press ‘Start’
- Select the option ‘News and Information’
- Select ‘Home Swap’
- Choose the size of property and then scroll down the list
- Write down the details of what you are interested in
What to do if you if you find a property you are interested in
- Contact us on 01254 269090 for the other tenant’s details

- Remember you must not swap homes before you have received permission to do so. We will make you move back!
HomeSwapper – national scheme
HomeSwapper.co.uk is a website for social tenants looking for a house swap. There is no longer a Government funded home swap service and HomeSwapper was launched as a replacement. As none of the landlords in the B-with-us scheme subscribe to the HomeSwapper service there is a small administrative charge for tenants to join the scheme.
